Surely you don't think Bush has been minding his pocketbook all these years? Any thoughts on how many cheap bottles of booze and dime bags could have been bought by welfare moms had we not decided to piss away, oh, a trillion dollars (and counting) on the Iraq War?
And when you crawl in bed with fundamentalist nutcases--as you well meaning "moderate Republicans" did--you can pretty much bet that other valuable assets will also go down the toilet. When our government is nabbing innocent people off the streets and sending them to slimy overseas prisons to get the shit beat out of them 24/7 for 18 months, and then claiming America doesn't torture--"Syria did it, we didn't"--then we have lost something truly worthwhile indeed. And we are culpable. (Well, at least YOU are.)
I suppose if you are truly rich, then you have made a wise decision voting for Bush, at least insofar as short-term gains. But your children will choke to death on the same toxic air as everybody else's--unless you build them a really cool playground in a bubble.
